Pakistan’s largest Fashion Apparel chain, Sefam (Pvt) Ltd, the owner of well known brands Bareeze, Leisure Club, Minnie Minors, Kayseria, Chinyere, Shahnameh, Working Women, Super Squad and more brings its IT systems up to date.
In a project that lasted 3 years, Taar Consulting played a 360 degree role starting with a study of legacy systems and leading to a total revamp of the IT function as well as systems. The IT function was upgraded to play the role of a business-driving Management Information Systems department. A new team comprising experienced industry professionals including Project Managers and Business Systems Analysts were hired. The team along with the consultants conducted a full scale requirement analysis based on which various systems were evaluated. Retail Pro v9 was chosen and Taar Consulting led the project towards a successful go-live.
It is important to note that by taking a customer requirement centric approach, many tasks that usually get skipped out during a regular implementation were also taken up by our consultants, hence ensuring an implementation that actually added business value. Some of these tasks were:
- Devising a methodology for fabric barcoding – first time in Pakistan
- Technology agnostic requirement analysis
- Defining color families
- Restructuring & capacity building of the team
- Localization of training material
- Post-project activities to ensure proper adoption of the new system by end users
Sefam operates a total of about 600 retail stores country-wide along with some international presence as well.
